As part of the Psalms in Dialogue presentation at Goodson Chapel a conference was held at Duke Divinity School to more deeply explore the collaborative experience, the key attributes every artist brought to the table, and possible ways to scale the project beyond the walls of the institution.
Andrew shared his experience as an improvisational artist interacting in a collaborative context and with sacred text. He demonstrated how he experiences and responds to spoken word (in this case Biblical Hebrew spoken by theologian Ellen Davis), different physical spaces, other players, and sound in general. Andrew elaborated on these experiences within the context of embodiment and discipleship to Jesus Christ.
