Presented at the inaugural TED Residency Salon, July, 2016.
In his third TEDx talk, this one at TEDxChemungRiver, Andrew reconciles his entire life as a tap dancer to Love.
Following Andrew’s debut on the Fellow’s Stage at TED Global 2012, he was invited to present his talk, Dancing from the Heart, at TEDxPuraVida. Here Andrew recounts his first experience improvising at 12 years old, at a New York City jazz club, in front of a live audience, and with live musicians. Andrew had been invited to the club by none other than Savion Glover. Jimmy Slyde, a tap legend, was hosting the evening’s session and would guide Andrew through this harrowing experience, offering this sage advice: “Just dance from your heart…”
