Collaborations

Andrew is one of the most versatile tap dancers today as evidenced by the numerous collaborations and musical associations he has developed and maintained over the years. Here are a few of the projects Andrew is currently involved in.

The Nat Adderley Jr Trio (Jazz/R&B)

Andrew appears often as a featured guest with the Nat Adderley Jr Trio, playing, among other jazz tunes, Nat Sr.’s composition “Work Song.” To see the reinterpretation of this song in particular is truly a sight and sound to be witnessed.

1to1 Project (Electroacoustic Music)

1 to 1 Project is the brainchild of Sean Hagerty and Andrew J. Nemr. Combining the visceral impact of live tap dancing with the sonic soundscapes of electronic music 1 to 1 Project explores relationships of sound and movement, the preconceived and the improvised, and the moments that occur between collaborators in live performance.

Max ZT (World Music)
One of the most adventurous hammered dulcimer players, Andrew has been featured with Max in duet (video here) as well as in Max’s own band House of Waters. A truly unique sound scape. More information at www.maxzt.com.

Old Time Jazz Bands

Andrew has been taken in as New York’s old time jazz tap dancer. It all began with a 5 year association with the Cangelosi Cards that blossomed during weelky performances at the Telephone Bar (NYC). Today Andrew may be found performing with The Jake Sanders Band, The Anderson Twins, Gordon Webster (video here), and Gordon Au and the Grand St. Stompers, as well as with his own band the Andrew J. Nemr Quartet.
